If you have visited this cinema and would like to say a few words about it to be posted here, please e-mail me. Size certainly isn't everything, and less is more. I was really looking forward to finally experiencing IMAX, but what a disappointment. I never liked the idea of a 'square' screen but it wasn't that so much as the picture quality. The image simply wasn't bright enough, with the frame fading away at the edges, despite the large format film. Also, the frame did not always fill the whole screen depending on what lens the camera was using. This was very disconcerting. Some of the POV flying shots were impressive, but panning shots just made you feel queasy, as the shot just became a moving blur. One very daft thing about the IMAX at Waterloo, the two staircases up to the seats were 'in the way of the screen' at the very bottom. That's right, you couldn't see sections of the lower part of the screen because of the staircase hand rails. How ridiculous. An extra large wide screen would have impressed me much more. This
