Been to many an opening night blockbuster here. I found the laser show a bit tacky, but it was worth the admission price just for the air con, the reclining seats, and the THX sound system 'trailer' alone. Although a big theatre, the seating capacity of screen one is six hundred seats shy of the Odeon's across the Square. There certainly is something about the place once you're inside. I love the seat rake and curiously, there is no balcony. If you can't get the seats you want, just make sure you sit too far back as opposed to too near the front as the screen is huge. I was in row 'C' for Dune years ago - never again. Did I mention the oh so efficient air conditioning system? Very nice. Unlike the Odeon Marble Arch, screen one was left alone when they turned the Empire into a 3 in 1. I guess the Empire is London's premiere theatre. Our Mann's Chinese Theatre if you like. |
