If you have visited this cinema and would like to say a few words about it to be posted here, please e-mail me.

This from Louise T: 'I go to the Majestic a lot and still love it. Screen 1 has just had a makeover and looks fantastic, not to mention the seats becoming much more comfortable, but it was fine before, just as warm and exciting. Because that's what cinemas are for, excitement.

The Majestic has just come under new management and is thriving, although some of the old quirky films are gone, the Majestic still shows the best and biggest hits. It is also still independent which means, we get the advanced screenings, I remember seeing Harry Potter 1 a week before it's national release. This is what makes the Majestic - that it is not affected by the power struggles, even as a Costa Coffee opens just around the corner.

So for now, I will keep my money (£4 for under 16's like me) going to the Majestic for as long as they are open.'

This from Justin Harrowing: 'Just been on your site and was amazed to see someone complaining about the price of a ticket being five pounds to see a film.

The majestic cinema in Kings Lynn is one of only a few remaining independent cinemas in this country, and I am glad to say it is holding its own against the faceless corporations like Odeon which only worry about profit.  Not everyone will have this opinion, but as they go the Majestic still holds the thrill of the film and not the hustle and bustle of the forced market.  Do you really go to see a film and complain about the seats not having cup holders?  Does this person have cup holders at home or does he not drink anything at all?

When going to see a film I want to see and hear the film, all the rest is padding which does not interfere with the overall picture and has nothing to do with the product you want to see. I have been to the multiplexes and had the pleasure of not only seeing the film I wanted to see, as well as hear the other two films which were beside me.  All that and had to pay nine pounds so that I could have a seat with the cup holder.

Forgive me but as a true movie fan would gladly pay to sit on the floor to watch a good movie.'

This from Arun Rao: 'Majesctic cinema used to be pretty rubbish, charging an extortionate £5 for small, cramped seats and only 3 pictures.

However, recently it has been refurbished and is now not too bad. Cinema 1, the main cinema, has much bigger seats (with cup holders!!!!) which are much more comfortable. There are a wide array of snacks and drinks available also. In summary then, its not amazing, but its not terrible. Probably not perfect for a first date but good enough for seeing a film with some mates.' (I'm not convinced £5 is extortionate for any cinema! I take it you mean 3 screens when you say '3 pictures'?).

This from Chris Pluthero: Saw ‘Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow’ there in what I think was the old ballroom.  Nice new comfortable seating, reasonable sound and faultless picture.  Ok it’s not quite up to modern standards but for anyone that likes the atmosphere of a 30’s cinema which hasn’t been ruined by modernisation it’s great!
