In the eccentric world of Dream Scenario, Nicolas Cage faces an entirely new dimension of fame.
A24 unveiled the trailer for their forthcoming offbeat comedy on Tuesday, introducing the film’s lead character, Paul Matthews, portrayed by Nicolas Cage. Paul, a college professor and an “unlucky family man,” suddenly finds his life upended when millions of strangers begin to encounter him in their dreams.
The official synopsis teases, “As his nocturnal appearances take a nightmarish turn, Paul is thrust into the uncharted territory of newfound stardom.”
Accompanied by the timeless sounds of The Cranberries’ “Dreams,” the trailer opens with Paul discovering that he’s been making enigmatic cameos in the dreams of acquaintances.

Before things spiral out of control, Paul addresses his newfound fame during a virtual interview, quipping, “Why me? I don’t know. I guess I’m special.”
Dream Scenario featuring Nicolas Cage A24 Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli (known for “Sick of Myself”), Dream Scenario made its world premiere earlier this month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The film, co-produced by the 59-year-old Cage, features an ensemble cast including Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera, Tim Meadows, Dylan Gelula, and Dylan Baker.

“So when he makes an appearance, it’s always a welcome sight,” Cage added.
Dream Scenario will debut in select theaters on November 10 before its wide release on November 22.
